The walk will include hedgerow\, forest and field foraging and will end with a cooking demo. \nJoe was a chef for 16 years\, running a kitchen for 10 of those. He has been foraging for over 20 years and has in-depth knowledge of wild food\, recipes\, hedgerow medicine\, past and present uses of plants and trees and mammal tracking. He likes to walk through nature and tell the story that nature shows him and is incredibly inspirational\, \nThis walk is perfect for those at the start of their wild food journey and those who want to expand their knowledge. While the walk is family-friendly\, it is best suited for adults and older children. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult. \nWhat to bring\n\nBring a basket or bag with you on the day as you will be able to take some Autumn offerings home with you along with some easy recipes and instructions.\nPlease wear suitable footwear\, we will be going into the woods and there will be uneven ground in parts and depending on the weather\, it could be muddy\nPlease bring a water bottle\, we can refill it for you.\n\nFind Us\nWild Ones is based at the beautiful Wooders campsite in Bere Regis on the edge of Wareham Forest. Depending on the weather\, we will either ask you to park at the entrance of Wooders or you will be able to drive straight to our site which is signposted. We will be able to direct you on the day. \nAccessibility\nDue to being a cross-country walk\, it may not be suitable for anyone with a mobility disability\, please get in touch to speak to a member of the team[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Wand and mushroom whittling workshop
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Join us for a woodcraft workshop\, where our bushcraft expert Joe will help you transform a piece of hazelwood wood into something extraordinary! Whittling provides not just a creative expression but also a way to cultivate mindfulness\, self-awareness\, and a stronger bond with the natural world. \nWe will first show you several useful tools and how they can be used safely and effectively. You will then use a variety of techniques to create your own mini mushroom or wand\, perfect to take home for Halloween! \nThis workshop is suitable for beginners as the basics will be covered\, but if you have some experience you will enjoy perfecting your skills and learning some new techniques. \nIt is best for adults and children aged eight and over\, though we ask that anyone under the age of 14 is accompanied by a paying adult. Younger children may struggle with some of the techniques so we would suggest opting for a wand as a starter project. \nWe will provide hot and cold drinks\, including our tasty hot spiced apple juice \nFind Us\nWild Ones is based at the beautiful Wooders campsite in Bere Regis on the edge of Wareham Forest. Depending on the weather\, we will either ask you to park at the entrance of Wooders or you will be able to drive straight to our site which is signposted.
