Dorset Wild Ones are looking for two enthusiastic and energic volunteers to join our friendly and fun team at our Wild Ones summer holiday club. We run a wide range of activities over the summer holidays, including bushcraft and survival skills, team games, sports, nature crafts, archery, and nature workshops with Dorset Wildlife Trust. The volunteer’s main role would be assisting in the planning and running sports and team activities which could include obstacle courses, rounders, ninja warrior course, archery and more. We welcome any ideas for activities and will encourage you to plan games that are fun and engaging for our children and young people. We believe children thrive in a child-lead environment so the ability to provide ad-hoc activities would be beneficial. At times, you will also be required to assist in overseeing our other non-active activities and workshops including nature walks, pond dipping and active play. We will provide training for all our volunteers including health and safety and kit management. Our existing team is a mix of Forest School Leaders, bushcraft instructors, teachers, and childcare workers. We are all keen to share our skills as all have the belief that children benefit hugely from spending time outside and in touch with nature. This role is perfect for someone who wants to build their experience of working with children and young people. Previous experience of working with children and young people is beneficial.
