Bushcraft Workshops

£5.00 – £15.00Join our bushcraft expert Joe for a morning, afternoon or full day of bushcraft workshops in our beautiful setting on the edge of Wareham Forest.
Forage, mammal tracking and fire
9.00 – 12.00
Take a stroll around Wooders and discover several species of plants that can be used for medicinal purposes, food and other uses such as cordage. Learn about the nutritional values of wild food and their historical uses. You’ll also learn how to harvest safely, the principles of sustainable foraging, and the laws on gathering wild food. On the way, you’ll also find signs of mammals and other wildlife.
You will then return to camp where Joe will first give a fire talk then you’ll be able to make your own fire using a variety of methods.

Our multi-talented Joe is also a chef! Enjoy a feast made from the best of local and seasonal produce, cooked on the open fire.

Wood carving workshop
13.00 – 15.00
You will first be shown a variety of tools and how they can be used safely and effectively, and then you will create your own wooden spoon, sword or an object of your choice.
£15 per person
These workshops are family-friendly but best suited to children over eight. Children under 14 will need to be accompanied by an adult. If younger children wish to attend, they are welcome to play in our Forest School area while the workshops take place.
We will have hot drinks and water available all day, but please bring a water bottle on the day.
