Wild Ones @ Wooders Wild Weekend

We can’t wait to go wild at Wooders Wild weekend! As well as some amazing live music and a wealth of local stalls and food, the Wild Ones team will be offering some festival crafts over the weekend.

Our activities are suitable for all ages (even grown-ups!) but children under 12 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Saturday 12th August
Create your own amazing and unique t-shirt! Experiment with techniques and colours to make your very own awesome design. T-shirts will need to be rinsed and dried once set. We do provide a t-shirt but if you have something else you’d like to tie dye bring it along

Make a beautiful tutu from your favourite colours or design and create your very own festival instrument for rocking out to the bands!

Join us for a wonderful resin workshop where you will create a piece of bespoke and beautiful jewellery.
Firstly, we will go for a foraging walk around camp where we’ll find a selection of wildflowers to use. You’ll then choose from a vast selection of resin moulds, tints and other embellishments, and your flowers to design and create your own works of art. These will then be turned into a keyring or necklace using our tools and finishes.

Design and create a mosaic masterpiece!
We have a selection of mosaic materials including mini square tiles, buttons and beads, broken artisan tiles, irregular shape glass tiles and other mini embellishments. Use these to design and create your very own mosaic craft to take home.
Pick from a square or round coaster, heart, star, animal shape or letter for £8 or a small box, mirror or picture frame for £15.
All the materials used are non-toxic 🙂

Dazzle your fellow festival goers with a stunning flower crown!
Firstly, we will go for a foraging walk around camp where we’ll find a selection of wildflowers and foliage to use. You will then arrange them into a glorious crown fit for a festival king/queen

After a demo on how to needlefelt, we will guide you through the process of felting a gorgeous baby bunny or hedgehog. We have all the tools and wool in every colour imaginable – you just need to bring your creativity!
Needle felting is brilliant fun and easy to pick up. It does involve using needles so younger children will need close supervision and some help with the tricky bits.

With step-by-step instructions and all the materials you need, we will guide you on how to make your own open-lid terrarium that will need little attention. So perfect for everyone – you don’t need to have green fingers!
We have a selection of jars containers available, specialist compost and coloured/natural stones, and of course, several succulents that you can plant. And for those that want to add a little magic, we have some mini woodland accessories to add too.
We will supply small succulent plants (3-5cm) but feel free to bring your own if you have a plant that deserves a shiny new home!

Take a stroll around Wooders and discover several species of plants that can be used for medicinal purposes, food and other uses such as cordage. Learn about the nutritional values of wild food and their historical uses. You’ll also learn how to harvest safely, the principles of sustainable foraging, and the laws on gathering wild food. On the way, you’ll also find signs of mammals and other wildlife.

An introductory half-hour session to the art of archery, axe and knife throwing.
Our instructor will instruct you to ensure you are safe and having fun. You will then be allowed to practice and hone in your newly acquired skills!
This session will run in a group of eight and the minimum age is 10. Any child under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult

You will first be shown a variety of tools and how they can be used safely and effectively, and then you will create your own wooden spoon, sword or an object of your choice.

This workshop is an introduction to fire craft. Learn several primitive and more modern ways to create a fire safely in a survival situation and have a go at making your own fire… complete with obligatory marshmallows of course!
